Tomintoul Peaty Tang:
Released in late 2007, a peaty single malt from the Tomintoul distillery.
Tasting Notes:
Aroma: The nose is full and pungent. There are notes of heather roots and wood smoke. A dark peat with notes of copper and pine oils with a touch of gentle sweetness from the barley malt.
Palate: The palate is quite rich and powerful. There are notes of toasted oak with notes of pepper and the smoke thereof. Notes of toasty cereals and supple peat. A wistful ash note builds.
Finish: The finish is long and hot with pepper and a leafy green note.
